OAK Magazine Issue 11 (Pre-Order)
PRE-ORDER NOW AVAILABLE
Issue 11 will be on sale late May 2022
Growing up believing that owning your own business was just "something everyone did", it is little wonder Jane Cay went on to own Birdsnest, one of Australia’s most successful independent online retailers.
Birdsnest is nestled in the main street of Cooma, NSW, the largest town in the Snowy Mountains region with a population of almost 7,000. In 2008, the store expanded into a successful online operation, and has since won multiple awards including Best Online Customer Service Award in 2015 and 2016 at ORIA, and named the fourth best place to work in Australia at the BRW Great Places to Work Awards in 2017.
Jane shares with OAK writer Alice Moffitt how customer confidence and office culture take precedence over spreadsheets and P&L. After a decade running one of Australia's biggest fashion success stories, we get an insight into the core values that underpin Jane's success in business.
Alongside Jane's story are other fabulous features including Womn-Kind, Make Me Giddy, Isobel & Co, The Rural Pride Network and EnviroEDU.
We talk about mental health, leadership, resilience, e-commerce, the importance of building digital capability, rural pride, women's health, first aid advice and so much more, with stories from Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
Issue 11 will also be a flip cover with Take Me Somewhere travel magazine ~ a curation of regional and rural destinations in Australia told through beautifully written words and stunningly captured images.
